20 Million Years in the Making

    2. Mountains & Canyons

The stunning mountains of Gran Canaria, create a majestic backdrop for your stay here at the Bhohemian Hideway.

Road trips by Car, Bicycle or Foot

From vast dry canyons, steep hairpin roads climb the mountains connecting the small villages, passing volcanic craters, breathtaking monoliths, and caves that are still inhabited to this day.

The Mountains are Calling & I Must Go!

Gran Canaria is divided by the northwest to the southeast, with different microclimates that shape the islands varied landscape. Mountains on the north are greener due to the higher humidity, whilst the south is more dry and dotted with wild cactus.

There are many roadside 'miradors' to stop and enjoy the views, so dont forget your camera!

Pico de las Nieves

Pico de las Nieves is the highest peak of the island, with an altitude of 1,949 meters above sea level. Its possible to view the second highest peak, Ruque Nublo from the mirador, and on clear cloudless days the neighbouring island of Tenerife. It can get pretty cold at times, so bring something warm to wear.

Roque Nublo

Roque Nublo is one on the most visited mountains on the island and is the second highest peak at 1,813 meters. A short walk from the parking spot will bring you to the 80 meter tall monolith that sits proudly overlooking the island. Although used in the past as a place of sacrifice, today it is a place to meditate and take in the amazing beauty of the island.
