Gran Canaria is a surfers paradise! Whether you are looking to surf the waves, paddle surf, windsurf or kitesurf, there is a school or rental shop with the right equipment and course for you.
The islands beaches are usually designated for each kind of watersport, with kite and windsurfing along the eastern coastline. Board surfers have spots from the northeast and going as far down as the Maspalomas lighthouse. SUP boards enjoy the more calmer beach resorts, particularly playa Canteras, San Agustin, and Maspalomas.
Due to the varying weather patterns between the northwest and southeast, its only a quick drive to find the perfect sea and wind conditions to practice your favourite watersport.
